Our Story

Hometown started as more than just a brand. It's a way of repping where you're from, where you're going, and who you are at your core.

Founded in 2021 by Lonnell Wiggins Jr. in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, Hometown Worldwide was born out of resilience, passion, and a love for the city of Portsmouth, VA. After being fired for starting the brand, Lonnell used his last paycheck to officially register Hometown, build the first website, paid for a batch of tees and vendor fee to participate in a local pop-up. That first pop-up earned $1,500 and nearly sold out — a powerful start that proved the vision was real.

Two months later, Lonnell relocated to Richmond, VA, to grow the brand and connect with new communities. From college campus pop-ups at VCU and UVA to local markets and festivals, Hometown Worldwide built a name by staying true to its roots and showing up where the people are.

In 2024, the brand expanded. Lonnell partnered with his childhood best friend, Benjamin Faulks — a personal trainer based in Hampton Roads — to launch Hometown Activewear, a sub-brand focused on fitness apparel for women and men. What started as a joke about launching a gym brand together turned into a movement.

Now, in 2025, Hometown Worldwide has shipped to 25 states and over 75 cities across the U.S. — but we’re just getting started.
